Picture Jasper

There are numerous varieties of Picture Jasper, and they usually are characterized by patterns that resemble landscapes. Wildhorse Picture Jasper is one of the family Jaspers found in the Owyhee Mountains near the Idaho/Oregon border. This "Freeform Pear Cabochon" cut stone shows beautiful soft "sand" colored banding with a contrasting "sage" colored area on the other side. A lovely gem of this uncommon material, and certainly some of the most interesting and eye-catching Jaspers that I have offered from Oregon.
