Pickeringite (rare material) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A very hard to find specimen of classic golden-yellow colored Pickeringite comprising acicular crystal that formed radial groups. I've only seen a handful of these specimens over the years, and this particular piece is in excellent condition overall. It feels very stable, but still needs to be handled gently as these specimens can be brittle. Classic material from California, and certainly worth picking up if you collect minerals of the Golden State. A Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5766). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
