Item Description
Please note: The given locality for this piece (the Laacher See) was written on the label, but we're not 100% certain that this is correct, as I can't find a listing for the material. If you have any insight or information regarding this speicmen and the locality, please feel free to let us know. With that said, this is an interesting example of this magnesium aluminum sulfate featuring rounded, intergrown soft yellow color groups of tiny acicular crystals of Pickeringtite free of matrix. A great pickup for any rarities collector or to fill in a spot in German suite. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5988). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
