Phosphophyllite (rare classic material)

Phosphophyllite is one of the most rare and beautiful mineral species in world. It's certainly among the most amazing phosphates species extant, due to the fact that collectors and dealers alike treasure it for its immense scarcity and immeasurable combination of form and enticing blue-green color. It's one of the great rare meldings of rarity and beauty in the minerals world. It is not only highly sought after, but in recent years has been dubbed the "Holy Grail" of mineral species for collectors. Without question, the finest examples are those from Cerro Rico in Bolivia, nothing comes close to the standard set by these crystals, and this particular piece is from the famed Unificada Mine, and was collected in the late 1990s. This specimen features an exceptionally rare, lustrous, gemmy, incredibly beautiful light blue green color, classic crystal section of Phosphophyllite with a bit of attached matrix on the back. The crystal is not 100% complete, like I said, it's a crystal section, but it does have smooth well-formed faces on the front, and it's even gemmy in areas. Please note that specimens of Phosphophyllite are incredibly rare to find in today's market, in ANY format, and the specimens from Cerro Rico are always in demand.
