Item Description

Phosphophyllite is a highly coveted mineral species, both for its rarity and beauty. It has been dubbed the "Holy Grail" of minerals, and is certainly one of the most beautiful phosphate species extant. This specimen is from the limited find in 2010, but not from the well-known Unificada Mine, bur rather the Machacamarca mining district. This piece hosts exceptionally rare, translucent, iron-stained, pastel green color "butterfly"-twinned crystals measuring up to 7 mm on oxidized matrix. Keep in mind that Phosphophyllite specimens are almost impossible to find in today's market, in ANY format. If you collect rarities, Bolivian minerals, phosphates or just have always wanted a piece of Phosphophyllite in your collection, don't miss out on this one.
