Item Description

The zoned granitic phosphate pegmatites at Hagendorf were worked mainly for feldspar and are renowned for their wealth of rare phosphate species. The two labels with this rich thumbnail list four phosphate species and the Hagendorf pegmatites are the Type Locality for three of them: keckite; phosphophyllite; and parascholzite. Keckite and parascholzite are similar looking. Probably older material. Ex Eugene Carmichael Collection.
