Item Description

Phosgenite specimens from the Monteponi Mine are a European classic. A very glassy, nearly transparent, 1.1 x 1.1 x 0.7 cm prismatic crystal is aesthetically set in a sheltered vug atop mostly scintillating, microcrystalline, galena ore matrix. The smaller crystals behind the large one are pristine, with a broken crystal noted in the front. This remains a very showy, highly representative combination example of the species and famous locale. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and according to his label, from the collection of Willard Perkin of "Perky Box" fame.
