Item Description

Phlogopite is a RARE accessory from the famous Sterling Mine. A 4.6 cm tapered crystal section is dramatically set in the contrasting massive calcite matrix. The lustrous, typically layered, hexagonal prism is mostly black with a few brown areas. The broken ends have classic pearlescent lustre. Neon-orange SW UV calcite fluorescence and a few neon-green willemite flecks are also visible. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1985. An exceptional and rare euhedral phlogopite from the noted locale. A must for the locality collector.
