Item Description

It's rare to find 4-inch crystals of any Mica species in good condition, but this is not only an impressive Mica specimen, but also an antique piece dating back approximately 100 years. This large, very well-formed, showy, rich bronze colored group of Phlogopite features a pair of excellent, thick hexagonal crystals free of matrix. The piece is in superb condition overall with no major damage to be seen. You just do not see pieces from Sydenham on the market in any capacity. If you're a fan of Canadian minerals or just worldwide Mica specimens, do not miss out on this old attractive showy display piece from this old, long extinct Apatite and Mica mine. From an East Coast collection and comes with a faded and stained century-old (early 1900s) label. Valued at $1,500 in the inventory.
