Item Description
We've only had a few of these over the years to offer in the auctions. One typically does not find Mica crystals from this locality in good condition, and this is not only an impressive crystallized example of Phlogopite, but it's also an antique piece dating back approximately 100 years. This good sized, very well-formed, showy, rich bronze colored group of Phlogopite features a pair of excellent, thick hexagonal crystals free of matrix. The piece is in superb condition overall with no major damage to be seen. You just do not see pieces from Sydenham on the market in any capacity. If you're a fan of Canadian minerals or just worldwide Mica specimens, do not miss out on this old attractive showy display piece from this old, long extinct Apatite and Mica mine. From an East Coast collection and comes with a faded and stained century-old (early 1900s) label. Valued at $1,200 for the size quality, and provenance.
