Item Description
Phillipsite is a fairly common Zeolite Subgroup species, that includes Harmotome. Specimens of any type are RARE from this old basalt quarry. Numerous miarolitic cavities in the oxidized basalt matrix host bone-white monoclinic crystals, to about 4 mm. The striking large crystal-lined oval cavity is 1.4 cm long. All sides of this rich and rare specimen host phillipsite. From an East Coast collection and comes with a century-old water-stained and faded label.
