Beautiful, water-clear, sharply terminated, gem phenakite crystals from a CLASSIC locale, the famous Mt. Antero area of Colorado. The glistening crystals, to 7 mm, are richly peppered on three sides of the dark smoky quartz crystal. Phenakites are highly sought-after from Mt. Antero, and these little gems should definitely be in the hunt. Both ends and the backside of the smoky are contacted, but this remains a very rich, highly representative combination example from this noted locale. Phenakites on smokies are rare from Mt. Antero.
