Phenakite on Smoky Quartz (classic Maine) Robertson Coll.

Item Description

Gemmy terminated colorless phenakite crystals, to 3 mm, are richly festooned on the face of the partially terminated smoky quartz crystal. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 7440 and acquired in November, 1974. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Classic, rich and excellent old-time combination material from this historic Maine pegmatite, first worked in the 1870s (MINDAT).
