Item Description
Phenakite, Be-silicate, is a highly desirable primary accessory species from Mt Antero, famous for very fine Colorado aquamarine specimens. Two, classic, glassy, translucent, colorless rhombohedrons, to 5 mm, are jauntily set atop the sculptural miniature matrix of albite and orthoclase. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 8921 and acquired at Tucson in 1980. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). Classic Antero phenakite.
