Item Description
Phenakite is a species that is found in a wide range of crystal habits from rhombs to prisms to tabular and elongated twins. Some of the most attractive gem quality Phenakite crystals have been recently found in the Mogok Valley of Myanmar (Burma). This fantastic thumbnail specimen is a superb, beautiful, water-clear, sharply terminated, gem "drillbit"-twinned Phenakite crystal from Ohngaing. You can see very slight reentrant faces on the termination of the crystal, creating a unique effect, rarely seen in Phenakite, let alone GEM quality crystals. The piece is in great shape, but there is a bit of roughness on a few prism faces where it was either intergrown with the pocket wall or another Phenakite crystal. If you collect thumbnails, minerals of Myanmar or just worldwide Phenakites, don't miss out on this one. Priced at $750 in the inventory.
