Item Description

Phenakite is found in many world localities, but some of the most attractive gem quality crystals have come out of Myanmar in recent years. These crystals are a different habit and style than anything we've seen before, and they are often quite gemmy to boot. This particular piece is a beautiful, sharp, lustrous, gem quality, sharply terminated, "drill bit"-twinned Phenakite crystal from the deposit at the Phenakite Mine, near the Khetchel Village in the Shan State of Myanmar. A great little crystal for the locality, and a worthwhile representative piece for any thumbnail collector or a collector of gem crystals. Specimen weight is 10.40 carats.
