Item Description

Brown hematite edge phantoms strikingly highlight the richly scattered very glassy, clear, colorless fluorite cubes on the large mounded matrix covered with scintillating drusy quartz. The fluorite cubes reach 1.2 cm on this unusual combination. Banded fluorite and more drusy quartz underlies the capping drusy quartz. An uncommon and very showy fluorite style from this large fluorite mine, that opened in 1919 and closed in 1987. Purple fluorescence. Ex Ted Bartels Collection.
