Phantom Calcite (excellent) Soregaroli Coll.

Item Description

The Sweetwater Mine is renowned for excellent calcite specimens and this is a scuptural and very aesthetic large piece from the Art Soregaroli Collection. The artistically constructed opposing scalenohedrons have very high luster, are gemmy to translucent and have straw-yellow to gray color. All of the major crystals have striking sharp phantoms of an earlier generation of calcite,that are coated with chalcopyrite and marcasite. The dramatic large upright crystal is complete all-around and is very nearly pristine, with only the most trivial of termination rubbing. The rest of the piece is also nearly pristine, with only trvial bruising to a crystal on the right side. An impressive and outstanding large calcite valued at $1250.
