Item Description

One of the most unusual crystal habits you will every see! This is a weird, doubly terminated, bi-colored crystal with a wafer-like shape. The lustrous, translucent, strangely stepped-growth, hexagonal crystal is a pretty watermelon-pink with a unique style and color that makes it jump out. YES, IT IS A BERYL! These rare crystals were found around 2002 by Dr. Federico Pezzotta and friends in Madagascar. None have been found since a 2003 pocket, of htis quality. Complete all-around and essentially pristine. One edge is contacted, but there is no damage, per se. 29.75 carats. Crystals like this are only avilable now from old stashes, or from Dr. Pezzotta's own stash. This one was valued at $1500
