Item Description
An extremely rare, very fine and unusually affordable matrix specimen of the new red beryl species pezzottaite, named after Federico Pezzotta for his love of pegmatite minerals and work on bringing this amazing deposit to light. The piece features two bubbly, lustrous, vivid pink crystals measuring up to 1.0 cm across, perched nicely on contrasting gray and white feldspar matrix. That is a damage-free contact on the one crystal. It is a bit better in person, I think and displays very well from several angles, as you can see. This specimen was exchanged from Dr. Pezzotta. valued $900 or more as matrix pieces are rare. This is from the 2003 finds. NO MORE HAS BEEN FOUND SINCE THAT TIME!
