Item Description

This is a very hard to find specimen from the famous Gold Hill District in Boulder County, Colorado featuring dark grey-black Petzite with minor lead-grey Hessite, plus a bit of metallic golden Pyrite and Quartz. The piece is best viewed with a loupe or under a microscope. A great telluride specimen for any fan of these kinds of minerals, or specifically material from Boulder County. You almost never see Rex Mine specimens for sale on the market today. From the collection of Colorado mining legend, Dave Bergman. Dave is now retired, but among other things, he was the foreman and primary person in charge of recovering specimens at the famous Sweet Home Mine near Alma, Colorado during the late 1970s.
