Item Description

Perovskite variety dysanalyte is the very rare niobium-rich variety of perovskite with the finest examples probably coming from the famous Magnet Cove area of Arkansas. Lustrous, sharp, metallic-gray, orthorhombic crystals to 6 mm are attractively scattered on the lustrous, calcite matrix. Bruising is noted, but is certainly acceptable in the context of this very fine rarity. Specimens of this quality and richnes are EXTREMELY RARE. Old material, predating World War II. Ex Georg Jasker of Hamburg, Georg Gebhard, noted author and collector and University of Delaware Collections.
