An exceptional and aesthetic combination from the classic Italian locale - Rocca Sella and the Matioli Collection. A sharp, lustrous and translucent, pseudo-cubic, mahogany-brown, 6 mm (large for the locale), perovskite crystal (Ca-Ti oxide) is dramatically set atop the piece. The sculptural matrix hosts numerous black, metallic magnetite crystals, smaller perovskites and green clinochlore crystals, to 1.1 cm, at the base of the piece. The wormy chloritic matrix is very rich in magnetite, as it, is itself, magnetic. A very fine and rare combination from the locale. The piece displays beautifully without aid.
