Perovskite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A cool old time Swiss Alpine Perovskite from the Zermatt area featuring a 1.2 cm, fairly sharp, dark brown, semi-metallic, pseudo-cubic (orthorhombic) crystal sitting atop schist matrix. The front of the Perovskite is in great shape, but it's contacted on the back. This is an old specimen with an antique hand-written label from Comptor Mineralogique et Geologique in Paris (F. Pisani Collection). If you collect Alpine minerals, you know how hard it is to find Perovskite from the Zermatt area on the market, so don't miss out on this one as it is around 100+ years old.
