Item Description

Perovskite is a fairly rare Titanium Calcium Oxide, and some of the most sought after specimens are those from the Alps. This piece is from the famous Val Malenco is far northern Italy and hosts several sharp, fairl lustrous, well-formed, light reddish-brown color pseudo-cubic (orthorhombic) crystals of Perovskite with dark greenish hexagonal groups of Clinochlore and minor black Magnetite on matrix. One of the few pieces of this hard to find material that I've offered, and certainly a decent reference specimen for a collector of Alpine minerals or rare species.
