Peridot with Ludwigite inclusions

As Peridot goes, the world's supply of gem material received a serious boost about 10 years ago when the first great gem Peridot crystals started coming out of Pakistan. This material is some of the finest color I've seen for Peridot and the sheer size of some of the gems that have come out is amazing. For the size, this is a rather bright green color for Peridot. I'd almost call it a slight "minty" color, and reminds me of a Tsavorite Garnet from Merelani, Tanzania. It's a great size stone from this area, combined with the fact that features minor "needle"-like Ludwigite inclusions, makes it a great stone for collectors. The cut on the stone is a "Pear Brilliant" cut. Well worth the $100 starting bid. Priced at $643.50 high retail.
