Item Description
Most of the time the Peridot crystals from Sapat Gali are found in loose singles, but this piece is a wonderful multi-crystal group featuring excellent, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, superb green color prismatic crystals measuring up to 2.7 cm on matrix. Very good condition all around, with no major damage, but there is a bit of interrupted growth in areas. My favorite part of the piece is that the crystals are really GEMMY, and nearly water clear in areas. These pieces started coming out in the early 1990s from this locality, and are now classic examples of what have become some of the finest Peridot crystals in the world. No world locality has produced the quality and quantity of euhedral Peridot crystals like Sapat Gali. From the collection of Richard Kosnar (1946-2007), well-known mineral dealer and collector from Colorado, and the namesake for the phosphate species, Kosnarite. This piece was priced at $1,800 in our inventory.
