Peridot & Ludwigite inclusions (Schlichter Coll.)

A gemmy, beautifully symmetrical peridot crystal, heavily included with unusual, vertical hair-like inclusions of ludwigite. Ludwigite is an uncommon high temperature magnesium, iron borate found in contact metamorphic deposits. The bladed, spearpoint crystal is complete all around and has traditional silky lustere, distinctive light etching and pretty bottle-green color. Ex Schlichter Collection. Really interesting!
