Item Description
A striking and excellent deal of 4 beautiful gem crystals from 4 totally different worldwide localities! What a gemmy deal! These are culls from a local collection as he goes from collecting thumbnails for many years, to larger pieces. Each is special in some way. The 1.1 cm, gem, pretty light grass-green, tabular, forsterite variety peridot is a classic ; and comes from arguably one of the world's oldest gem producing localities - St. John's Island in the Red Sea.We value it at $100-200. The water-clear, 8 x 3 mm, textbook, tabular, hexagonal, goshenite beryl crystal impaled by a 1.1 cm gemmy green tourmaline (it protrudes out of the bottom of the goshenite!) is just fabulous (though the tip is broken). Old material from Resplendor, Brazil, which is renowned for its goshenite specimens. But this is a super cute thumbnail example like you would seldom see! Hard to value. The 1.6 cm, parallel-growth, aquamarine crystal from Jos, Nigeria is just a pristine beauty with pretty blue color, water-clear gemminess and very complex pinacoidal teminations. It is highly unusual. Lastly, comes a very aesthetic specimen made up of an opposing pair of glassy amethyst crystals from Las Vigas, Mexico. The crystals have pretty purple shading and the upright spire is beautifully water-clear and complete all-around. It is actually quite hard to get a good thumbnail sized example of this material in quality. Value of such a unique pairing of gem crystals???
