This is a beautiful Peridot miniature from the famous Pakistan locality of Sapat Gali, the source for many historic stones and gems. These crystals occur in altered ultramafic rock that reveals these stunning gem crystals. This piece features several crystals in parallel growth, each one stepped at different heights on the specimen. The tallest one is 3.5 cm and each one has a spearhead-like termination with a glassy luster. The prism faces on the front and back are also very lustrous while the ones on the side have satiny appearance. The crystals are sharp and have a high degree of gemminess to them. Many larger Peridots from here tend to be murky, dull and somewhat rounded. This, though, is a limey-green beauty! AND it has sharp form, translucency, and just overall quality that most are lacking in this size range, Valued over $2000 simply for quality, although others of lesser quality abound on the market
