When it comes to faceted, gem-grade Peridot stones, the world's supply of fine material received a serious boost about 20 years ago when the first great gem Peridot crystals started coming out of Pakistan. These impressive gems are not only larger than most, they also feature some of the finest color I've seen for Peridot. For the size, this particular gem is a rather bright green color for Peridot. In fact, you rarely see Peridot gems with such a lovely color like this, they're usually much more pale. It's a great size stone from this area, combined with the fact that the stone is very very slightly included makes it a GREAT gem for collectors. I can actually see some tiny acicular "needle" inclusions of what is likely Ludwigite. The cut on the stone is an "Oval Brilliant" cut. Well worth the starting bid. Priced at $1,242.50 high retail.
