Item Description
Peridot is a well-known gem, mostly because it's the traditional birthstone for August, but there are honestly only a few places in the world where fine quality gem material is found. For many years, the gem industry relied on good gem material coming out of Arizona, and in the 1990s fine gem quality Peridot started coming out of Pakistan, which really gave the market a shot in the arm. Not only was the color and quality of the Pakistani material superb, but some of the stones were large by Peridot standards. Here we have a good sized "Checkerboard Square Cushion" cut gem with glowing green color. The stone is nearly eye clean, and it would make it an excellent gem for a collector or a piece of jewelry.
