Pentlandite (rare)

Item Description

Pentlandite is a rare iron nickel sulfide that is not often found in good specimens from the United States. This piece came with a label stating it was from Ducktown, Tennessee and I found a listing for Pentlandite online that metions the locality (http://www.galleries.com/Pentlandite). This piece features metallic silvery-grey colored Pentlandite which may actually be mixed with Pyrrhotite. A cool rarity and a great esoteric specimen for any collector of US minerals.
