Pentagonite on Stilbite

Stunning, abnormally-rich, small cabinet specimen of incredibly showy GEM crystals of Pentagonite from the famous Wagholi Quarries in India. Usually, a fine Pentagonite piece will have a single spray of these electric blue crystals, but this well-preserved pocket has about a dozen Pentagonite clusters. The glassy luster is excellent, and it really highlights the vivid color of each and every blade. In fact, the largest blade is 1.2 cm long and it shows beautifully. It is safely protected, as well, within the vug. When these crystals were oroginally found, they were thought to be Cavansite, but subsequest analysis has proven them to be Cavansite's orthorhombic dimorph, Pentagonite, which is much rarer than Cavansite. Found only in India and Owyhee Dam in Oregon, USA, Pentagonite specimens are truly one of the most exciting recent finds from the Deccan Trappe in India, and the world's best have been found there. This piece is certainly upper-tier in quality, richness, and sheer beauty. It is already rare, but specimens of this caliber are difficult in teh extreme to obtain - AND in a protected pocket of matrix, so it can be handled, shipped, and enjoyed.
