An original Rock Currier design jewelry item found in his "mineral-related memorabilia" stash…apparently made with the idea of giving as a gift to a lady friend, although we are not clear on who he intended to wear it! Made in the early 1990s from ametrine rough he got himself in Bolivia, mixed with Veracruz amethyst sceptered crystals and a stunning vivid purple round amethyst gem in the middle (also something he brought himself from Bolivia). The doubly-terminated polished point in the middle is a superb floater from Veracruz with really deep color. Donated by The Rock Currier Collection (Jewel Tunnel Inc.). Pendant photos by Robert Mosley and Guenther Neumeier. Value at $2500. The total mass of the piece is 50 grams, in what we believe to be 14K gold. We do not have the weight of the gemstones but we can say they are clean, gorgeous, and very well cut. Can be worn as a brooch or a pendant (with attached loops on back).
