Item Description

A fine, well-formed 1.6 cm ball of glassy radiating pectolite blades is aesthetically complemented by the inverse partial pectolite ball. A super nifty accessory is the 6 mm diverging spray of gem, colorless, elongated natrolite prisms beautifully set between the pectolites on the calcite cleavage matrix. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 5196 and acquired from Dr. Werner Lieber, a prominent German mineral photographer and author in the mid- to late-1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). Mineral specimens are uncommon from the abandoned basalt quarries in the area and this is a very fine combination example.
