Item Description

In addition to the some of the world's best Garnets, the Jeffrey Mine in Canada can lay claim to some of the finest Pectolite crystals found. These well-formed clusters of bladed to tabular Pectolite crystals have excellent luster, good gemminess, and are a soft shade of green. The largest group measures 1.0 cm, which is fairly decent for the species and the locality. The matrix has moderate fluorescence, though I am not quite sure exactly what its composition is. This piece likely dates to the 1970s or early 1980s. A fine specimen for this famous mine. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8450). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
