Item Description
Pretty tea-green, translucent, matte lustre pectolite balls fully line a sculptural curved small cabinet vug. The large ball is 2.0 cm across. The shimmering, chatoyant broken balls on the periphery reveal the radial growth of the acicular pectolite. This famous Trap Rock quarry opened in 1895 and closed in 2007. "The mineralized zone has now been removed, and the pit is currently being refilled with trucked in rock and dirt, for a future housing development." (MINDAT). Classic green pectolite from the locale with several fine display views.
