Item Description
A very aesthetic bowtie of glassy, transparent to translucent, pectolite blades from the famed Jeffrey Mine. Pectolite is a signature species from this renowned mine. All of the terminations appear to be pristine on this cutie and the "sail" crystal adds pizzazz. Unusually, colorless microcrystals of another species fluoresce yellow on the piece, adding much interest. Choice and classic combination material from the Kay Robertson Collection # 8653 and acquired from Canadian dealers, the Melanson's, at the Tucson Show in 1979. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
