Item Description
Aesthetic and sculptural pectolite small cabinet from one of the famous Traprock basalt quarries in the Paterson, New Jersey area. The striking specimen resembles a corsage with a snow-white stalk. Diverging radial sprays of shimmering, pearlescent, acicular crystals form the piece. The impressive bladed "corsage" has terminated crystals. Pectolite is a member of Wollastonite Group of silicate mineral species and is the calcium analogue of Serandite. Ex John Whatley Collection, a well-known Georgia collector (1939-2022) and acquired in a swap with Credo Schwab 1990. Classic and excellent pectolite from Paterson.
