Item Description

Parsettensite is a rare layered manganese silicate and neotocite is an amorphous to poorly crystalline, hydrated Mn silicate found in metamorphic manganese deposits. The layered matrix holds narrow veins of of copper-red parsettensite and much broader veins of dark brown neotocite. Specimens of any variety are extremely rare from this obscure mine. A very rare, rich and showy combination specimen from this extinct locale. The Minerals Unlimited label dates to the mid to late 1950s. The Cilen Collection must have been extensive with the 11,432 catalogue number! Ex Josef Vadjak Collection.
