Item Description

The famous Muzo emerald mine is the Type Locality of this rare REE carbonate. The calcite vein in shale matrix hosts a 1.1 cm section of a typically tapered, lustrous and translucent, waxy yellowish-brown pseudohexagonal crystal, along with fragments of more crystals and tiny pyrites. A showy and highly representative example of this rarity from the Art Soregaroli Collection.
