Item Description
Parisite-(Ce) is an uncommon Ca-Ce-La REE carbonate halide. Two, intergrown crystals are aesthetically set on the side of the granite gneiss matrix. The lustrous crystals, to 6 mm, are quite gemmy and have rich honey-brown color. They are pseudohexagonal tabular crystals with nifty, pronounced stepped-growth faces. This very fine and uncommon matrix specimen is from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. Herb valued this specimen at $600, more than five years ago. This value was due to the exceptional gemminess of the crystal. Nothing has come out of the Zagi Mountain in years, with the ongoing conflict.
