Item Description

An impressive piece of Parisite-(Ce) consisting of rather large slender, deep reddish-brown prismatic crystals forming a small cabinet sized display specimen from this lesser known mine in NW Montana (between Missoula and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho). The mine was worked for Fluorite for a short time during the 1950s, but arguably it's best known for its Parisite specimens. I honestly can't say that I've seen larger Parisite crystals from this mine, though these are a bit crude in habit and a couple of them are incomplete. This piece comes with a label from Bart Cannon, which increases the value instantly. The label actually says that Bart personally collected the piece in 1980. If you collect Montana minerals, this is a great novelty specimen of Parisite-(Ce) that will certainly impress anybody who is familiar with the material. They may not be the best looking Parisite crystals in the world, but they're certainly bigger than most of them.
