Item Description

Pargasite is an uncommon very complex silicate species. This very fine specimen came out in the late 1990s, labeled as being from China; and later it turns out that they came over the border from Vietnam. They are certainly the most beautiful known examples of this species, normally relegated to a rather dull, unattractive, dark-colored rock-former. This piece is striking, featuring a terminated 1.8 cm crystal of superb color, luster, and saturated green hue in contrasting marble matrix. It is of exceptional quality, compared to the common sort still available today when you can get it. Green SW UV fluorescence. Ex. Marty Zinn Collection.
