Pargasite on Marble

Item Description

Pargasite is an uncommon and unlikely looking amphibole group species. This pargasite is superb in every way. The 1.5 x 1.5 cm fairly large crystal has sharp, lustrous faces, gemmy clarity, intense green color and is jauntily set atop mounded matrix of contrasting marble. The marble hosts a scattering of smaller pargasites and phlogopite mica, which adds character. Very highly representative of the uncommon, very colorful species and locale.
