Item Description

A highly unusual species specimen for a thumbnail collector, or a species collector, this is a somewhat gemmy, translucent crystal of the rock-forming species pargasite. Normally they are quite ugly and dark, to black. Sometimes, they occur in green crystals in Pakistan and Vietnam. This, however, is a highly unusual crystal with a blue-green hue, somewhat unique. We would consider it a green-blue translucent crystal, and it is 1.5 cm tall and 9 mm wide. It contrasts nicely in a bed of feldspar. This mineral is a mix of elements, that often results in something that looks like a rock and grows as grains in a rock...rarely as crystals: (Na)(Ca2)(Mg4Al)(Al2Si6O22)(OH)2. Unknown value...it is so unique!
