Item Description

A superb bowtie-shaped group of large, translucent, pale green paravauxite blades with a few sharp individual crystals protruding out the side. This graceful, competition-quality thumbnail is likely a product of the efforts of Mark Bandy nearly 80 years ago. Paravauxite is a hydrated iron aluminum phosphate with hydroxyl. Complete all around with scattered tiny pockets of white clay. For a thumbnail, this is a well-balanced and unusually fine full-sized specimen. From the award-winning thumbnail collection of Sharon and William Panczner, author of the book Minerals Of Mexico, and last seen and exhibited in the 1960s and recently rediscovered.
