Item Description

Paratacamite is a relatively uncommon secondary copper chloride, found in especially arid climates. This piece features blue-green Paratacamite microcrystals which cover the host rock matrix on this excellent specimen from the San Francisco Mine in Sierra Gorda, Chile. We used a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to photograph the piece as the crystals are tiny, and best seen under magfniciation. This is one of only a few pieces of this species that we've had to offer from this locality, and comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value.
