Item Description

Paralaurionite, chloroxiphite and mendipite are rare lead chlorides and Somerset is the Type Locality area for chloroxiphite and mendipite. The rich vein of pearlescent, laminated mendipite is sandwiched between crusts of manganese oxides. One sides has scattered patches of glassy, translucent, yellow paralaurionite and three sides have small clusters of elongated, olive-green to green paralaurionite crystals. Rare and rich combination material from this well-known, old classic quarry.
